Training Classes & Requirements - Individual Providers
Signing Up for LTC Worker Training
All IPs are represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Healthcare 775 NW. All IPs are required to complete training through the Training Partnership. See the chart below for what training is required and when.
If you do not meet any required training deadlines
Your payment to provide personal care is terminated if you do not meet training deadlines. To be reinstated (paid again as an IP), on your own and at your own expense, you must:
- Complete all required training through a DSHS community instructor. Find a Community Instructor.
- Become certified as a home care aide, if required (Option E from the Training Partnership Training Wizard).
IPs needing continuing education (CE) because they have missed their CE training deadline may also get CE hours by attending approved conferences.See a list of conferences approved for use as CE.
Home Care Aide (HCA) Certification
All LTC workers required to take 75 hours of basic training must become a certified home care aide within 150 days of their service begin date.
